Sam started playing when she was 7 (or 8!) with Ireland Colliery Band, starting on Baritone, moving onto Euphonium once the youth band was formed.

Sam played with Ireland until she had a break from banding aged 17/18.

Sam then started playing again with Creswell and Kirkby bands for a while before finally joining Pleasley Band where she has played for the last 9 years.

Sam joined Blidworth on 2nd euphonium in July 2023
