Gary graduated from the University of Huddersfield majoring in Conducting working under Phillip McCann.  

 

Gary is a Brass teacher in Leicestershire, he is also the musical director of Foresters Brass as well as being a player himself, usually playing trumpet with several big band groups but also depping with some brass bands local to Leicestershire. 

 

Gary has achieved many successes with the Ratby Co-operative Mid Band where he has previously conducted, including becoming the Midlands and Wychavon Third Section champions in 2022.

Gary joined Blidworth Welfare Band in April 2023.

In June 2024, Gary competed in the Brass Band Conductors Association Competition, where he placed 2nd overall and was the highest placed UK entrant.
