New Signings For Blidworth

The band are thrilled to announce our newest bunch of signings!

Firstly we welcome Elizabeth Lowe who is joining the band on cornet.

Elizabeth started playing cornet age 8, and having played with Thoresby Youth, Dronfield and Shirebrook previously, she joins us from the Ratby Co-Operative Band. Elizabeth is no stranger to the band having helped us out before at both concerts and contests, and will be joining us on 2nd cornet!

Next we welcome Hannah Shelton, who joins the band on Eb Bass! Hannah comes to the band to play alongside her dad Andy, our percussionist!

Hannah started playing age 8 on the trombone and then moved onto bass. Hannah will be joining as one of the youngest players in the band at 16 years old!

And last but certainly not least, Paul Barrow who has joined the band on 2nd horn! Paul started playing at Clipstone Brass aged 13, and previously played with the Hucknall and Linby Band and joins wife Jenny, our percussionist at Blidworth!

On our new signings, musical director Gary said “All 3 additions will be extremely important to the bands rebuild. We still have a couple more important seats to fill but this is a massive step in the right direction. I’m really happy to be working with the new players and the rest of the band preparing for our next performance at Bolsover Contest”
