Blidworth Entertainment Draws

Blidworth Welfare Band are presently preparing for their appearance at the Shirebrook Open Entertainment Contest on Sunday 8th July where they will perform their entertainment programme before adjudicator, Mark Wilkinson.

As an Open contest, the band will be competing against bands of all sections and include Newhall Band, Ireland Colliery Chesterfield, Deepcar, Pleasley Colliery, Hucknall & Linby, Strata, Shirebrook Miners Welfare, Bakewell Silver, Enderby, Amington, Prospect Brass Skelmanthorpe, St John's Mossley, Foresters Brass and Rolls Royce (Derby).

Blidworth secured a 2nd place at the Shirebrook Open Entertainment Contest in 2016 and 2017 and will be hoping to go one better this year.

As we approach the Shirebrook Contest, the draw has also been announced for the Bolsover Entertainment Contest where the band will perform their programme before adjudicator, Roger Webster.

Bands entered Bolsover include Foresters Brass, Strata, Chapeltown Longridge, Marsden, Hepworth, Kirkbymoorside, Easington Colliery, Shepherd Group, Newstead, Unite the Union, Yorkshire Imperial and Blidworth drawn to perform last, making it a dry day for the band.
