Contest Success for Blidworth

Blidworth Welfare Band delivered a fantastic performance on 11th March 2018 in the Championship Section of the Midlands Area Championships gaining a credible fifth place out of twelve bands, moving the band up the Championship Section league table above Jaguar Land Rover Band, Sovereign Brass, Langley, Hathern, Newstead and Jackfield.

Playing off a number seven draw the band delivered a performance that found favour with adjudicators, Dr Graham Jones and Prof Steven Mead with Dr Jones writing in the remarks "Good drive and energy across the performance and big yet controlled sounds".

Prof Mead summed up the performance with "You have plenty of power and much of this is impressive and well judged by the MD with a well shaped and executed ending".

The result marks the best ever result in the Championship Section for Blidworth and they will be back in the band room on Thursday working up the programme for the April concerts.
