Andy's musical journey began with the Salvation Army - Stapleford playing bass drum at the age of 7, progressing onto trombone and then bass trombone at the age of 14, where he can still be seen today.

Andy then sat back behind a drum kit at the age of 15 in his last year of school for a school show. When he left school got a mechanics apprenticeship, and left drumming for a while.

Many years later Andy became involved in Thornton’s Brass with his wife Helen in the percussion section. Now known as Sir Richard Arkwright Masson Mills band were he remains actively involved.

Andy is also lucky enough to play drums in various musical theatre productions around the Nottingham & Derby area.
