Liz Oke
Solo Baritone
Blidworth Welfare Band

Liz started her banding career at Creswell Junior Band, following in her mother, Juliet Holling’s footsteps as a tenor horn player. She played at a number of bands conducted by her mother, and was also a member of the National Youth Brass Band. Following a move to Cornwall for work, Liz joined Bodmin Town Band on cornet until moving back to the Midlands/Yorkshire area where she returned to playing tenor horn. Liz played for a number of bands including Riddings Band, Rhodian Brass, Ransomes and Thoresby Band.

Liz played at Skelmanthorpe several times before a further spell at Thoresby on Solo horn prior to retiring due to work commitments. However following her daughter Emily and husband Martin’s move to Blidworth she was offered the opportunity to play baritone which she was delighted to accept.
